The IAVCEI Commission on Volcanic and Igneous Plumbing Systems invites you to join us for the first of this year’s talks of our #FocusOnVIPS Online webinar series. Our aim of these short online talks is to showcase the exciting research going on in our VIPS community and promote discussion across methodologies and disciplines. Each session features invited speakers presenting their latest work and ideas in brief talks, followed by questions and constructive discussions.
Each #FocusOnVIPS webinar will take place on MS Teams and they will not last over one hour. You must register in advance to attend in advance using the link below.
These first #FocusOnVIPS talks will focus on African volcanic plumbing systems with two invited speakers:
- Dr(c). Ephrem Kamate Kaleghetso, University of Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo, “Magma chamber processes and differentiation modelling underneath Nyamulagira volcano (East African Rift)”
- Dr Amdemichael Zafu Tadesse, Columbia University, USA, “Pre-eruptive magma conditions and volatile evolution in a geothermally active volcanic system”
