New additions to the VIPS Team

23 Aug 2023 by VIPS Commission

We have some exciting news to share.

Please join us in welcoming our new ECR Representatives – Matías and Mike!

Matías is a Chilean Postdoc researcher at the University of Portsmouth. His research is focused on forecasting eruptions in long-repose time volcanoes using rock deformation experiments.

Mike is an MSc student at the University of the Philippines – National Institute of Geological Sciences. His current research focuses on the primary magma estimation and magma storage conditions of monogenetic and polygenetic volcanoes in Macolod Corridor, southwestern Luzon Arc.

With the arrival of our new ECR Reps we’re sadly saying farewell to Corin Jorgenson. We say a huge thank you for all her hard work in bringing the community together.

Would you like to be featured on our blog?

We’re on the hunt for fellow VIPS enthusiasts to get involved, whether you’re a student, an early career researcher (ECR) or more experienced researcher – we want to hear from you! Get in touch to tell us what’s going on in your field of VIPS.
